Another One Rides The Bus

Hola Everyone!!  This week was full of some first time experiences.

I had the opportunity to go on divisions with a member. The member I went with is about 65yrs old, and was a blast to work with. She is like a crazy, awesome Grandma to me, and we taught really well together =)

Then I got to go on exchanges the next day with my Sister Training leader and help teach some of her investigators.

I also had the fun experience of Contact a bus this week, haha nothing like standing at the front of the bus and preaching the gospel to everyone in a language you don't know, haha quite the adrenaline rush, cant wait to do it again =D

The scripture for this week that I really love is:

Romans 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I love this scripture because it is a reminder to me that no matter what situation or who you are, you are still a child of God and He loves you. Period. He is always reaching out His hand to help you reach your full potential. Even when you feel like no one can help you, He is there walking every step with you.
I love you all and hope you all have an amazing week!

Love ,

Grave Yard Shift (Litterally)

Hola mi amigos!!
Wow, this week went by realllllllllllly fast, I cant believe it! I now have seven months in the mission, its so crazy!! I feel like I still only have 3 here =P So what is new this week?
For one, we had a service project this week with our Stake. And we got to clean a Graveyard!! Whoow!!! Actually kind of exciting, you definitely find and see some weird stuff in Mexico grave yards. Lots of pictures of The virgin Mary and Guadalupe =P Oh speaking of which, I finally bought some new Tennis Shoes because my other ones got "lost" ;( . And I have started running again in a park...around a Catholic Church. At times its a little awkward when you have Guadalupe or the Virgin Mary staring down at you haha and its always fun when they ring their huge bell right as you run by (ouch!). definitely still enjoy running =)

Loving Mexico! Our area is getting a lot better, we are finding a lot more people to teach =) And we had four investigators come to church this past Sunday (whoow!!!) and you will never guess who came to church! The bread man!! haha! I talked with him in the street one day and invited him to church and he came!! haha it was awesome! =)
Hope you are all having a great time! I love you! Take care!! =D

I found Silver Surfer!! (Gotta love it when you find Marvel or DC references here!!)
One of our Investigators was making an awesome Pinata out of eggs full of confetti!
And the big catholic church =)

Burn!!!!

Ah well this week has definitely been really hard. I will start it off in a somewhat funny manner with a story.
Tuesday we went Less Active searching, Hermana Serrano and I found all the addresses of less actives in one of our areas and we went looking for all of their houses. Funny story about Mochis, most of the houses do not have numbers and the ones that do are all out of order (for example we have 20 by 145, I do not know why!) So we were out looking for houses and knocking on doors for 4 hours straight and nobody opened their door =( So we went to a Ward meeting at the church after all of our "less active tracking" and when I entered the door my zone leaders looked over at me and went wide eyed and started yelling
"WHAT HAPPENED? HERMANA ORISON ARE YOU OKAY?"
"Yeah...why?" I replied having no idea what they were freaking out about.
"Your RED! like, redder then red head red!" I realized I had no put on sun screen that morning and I went and looked in the mirror, and yep I'm a little red missionaira, whoow!!
In other news, Ill admit this week was really hard. It seemed like we could not find anyone to teach (a lot of people our in vacations right now) and we were having quite a few difficulties, so I asked one of the Elders to give me a blessing. And when he gave me the blessing I was totally shocked because the words he used were so specific for my situation, it was like he knew everything that was going on in my life at that moment (Which I am pretty sure he didn't because I have only talked to him twice in my life ) It just really opened up my eyes to the Priesthood power, because I knew those were words from God to help me, they were his words to keep me going.

I know that we are all children of God and that he has a plan for us. A plan of happiness, and to help us in this life, he placed the Priesthood Authority in the world to help us and guide us. He gave us prophets and scriptures to give us guidance and He gave His beloved son Jesus Christ to atone for us. To help our weaknesses and imperfections, become strong and perfect. This Gospel is so true and I invite all of you to apply its principals in your lives and receive the blessings God has waiting for you =)
     Love you all!!!!

Happy Easter :)

     HAPPY EASTER EVERYBODY!!!!

Conference was amazing!!! Ill admit, I tried to watch the first talk in Spanish in the stake Center, but I have a short attention span (especially with Spanish haha) and it was really hard for me to concentrate. So I went and watched it in English with all the other white missionaries in a small room. haha it was great! It was like the super bowl for Mormons! =D

I admit this transfer has been a little hard, it is always hard getting used to another companion because they all teach differently. Haha, I am proud to say that the hard part right now is that I talk to much in the lessons! YES! My Spanish is finally progressing again its great! =D

I hope you are all doing well, and had the opportunity to watch conference. I know when we listen to the Prophets and apostles and apply their teaching in our lives we will receive many blessings in this life and for eternity, ah I love this Gospel =) Have a good one everyone!! =D

Transfers!

HOLA EVERYONE!!! Today has been so hectic! It is transfer day today, and guess who is Transferring???? Haha NOT ME, no my Companion Hermana Fisher is transferring to Obregon (The one place she did not want to go haha) It's crazy because all of the companionships in my district transferred, so we have a ton of new Missionaries coming in!

My new Companion Is Hermana Sorrano, I am so excited to have another Companion that does not know very much English, I want to improve my Spanish so bad, and she is an answer to my prayer =D Right now we have Hermana Brown working with us too, for three days until her companion comes back from Obregon, so we are in a Trio right now, whoooooow!!!!!

Have a great spring break everyone!! (Everyone in Mexico is definitely partying it up right now =P)

Crazy RM!

Ah don't have too much time! but my companion was a little sick this week. And our sister training leaders ordered her to stay home and rest for two days, meaning as her companion I had to stay home too.

Let me tell you, I almost went crazy that first day staying in our house! It was the first time in five months that I had spare time. Time with no plans or scheduled things. I was freaking out because I didn't know what to do, so while my companion was sleeping, I cleaned the whole house, translated two chapters of the Book of Mormon from Spanish to English, read a bunch of conference talks that could help our investigators, studied Spanish, cooked dinner and on and on.
Yeah, lets just say the second day I called our sister training leaders and asked them to do exchanges with me because I couldn't handle staying in the house "relaxing" for another day. There are souls that need saving dang it! haha

Just warning all of you, I am probably going to be a really crazy RM. to my family, Please plan out a lot of things out for me to keep me busy when I get back or I might go insane lol =) Besides that I am loving my mission!! And we are getting a lot of work done here =) I love you all! Have a fantabulous week!!

Teaching and Sunday Miracles

Wow, so I just typed a paragraph and realized it was all in Spanish haha Delete! Anyways, this week has been really hard but resulted with amazing blessings too.

For one, I officially had 5 months in the mission on the 15th. (How crazy! This mission is going by way to fast! I don't know how to stop it! AH!) And we had the baptism of little Carmila, who is 8 years old. Her mom was reactivated a few months back and she asked us to help her prepare her daughter for Baptism, so we have been teaching her all the lessons this past month =)

This week we started teaching English lessons! Whoow! They assigned me and Elder Arnold to teach them, which definitely challenges us because I only have 4 months in Mexico and he only has about a month, so our Spanish is not the best, but I decided to just teach the Class Herr Corry style, and just run around pointing at things and yelling English words, it actually worked pretty well =P

Sunday was a big miracle. These past few weeks we have been working reallllllly hard, teaching and finding as many people as we could. But every Sunday no one would really come to church and we were not seeing any results of our efforts. I definitely prayed a lot more this week, asking what more I could do to help this area grow, to help those people we were teaching to receive the Gospel and come to church and feel the Spirit. Behold, we were blessed with 6 investigators this Sunday! We went to pick up a family Sunday morning (who are never usually there...) and they were all waiting by the door with their books of Mormon(s) and pamphlets. I honestly almost cried in the door step because I was so happy just to see them so ready to learn.

I cannot tell you how blessed I feel being a missionary. I have the opportunity to visit soooo many families and help them strengthen their relationships with each other. It is just awesome to see them grow in the Gospel and apply these principles in their homes. Its the best! I love it! I have the best mission in the world!! =D

I love you all!!! Have a fantastic week!!! =D
